Seems like it doesn't work in the Mac OSX. Can you recommend any similar subtitle utility for the Macintosh?

Awesome. Idiot-proof! I use RealPlayer since Windows likes to crash, and it works just fine with it.

DirectVobSub is the best subtitle codec, I've seen, but still it does not support SSA fully. I could not find a codec with full SSA support. Any idea, where I can find one?

How do you get rid of this program? it causes windows movie maker to malfunction for me... i dont want DirectVobSub at all!

Hi!
Anyone have the 2.33b vsfilter (or lazy man's 0.9.4)?
My Subtitle Wrokshop don't work this new vsfilter, but the older (2.33) works great!
Please send this codec for my e-mail address.

big thanks to spyros, I don't know why it's not set at default to "Original Height" since that gave me a world of a headache trying to compromise between playing subs on mkv and normal xvids

why it wont work on mkv's ? i use vsfilter 2.33b that comes with MKV codec pack able to have subtitle but it cant show in other avi using external sub like .ssa ,or its needs to set something ?

For the blank screen, double click on the green arrow in the system tray, select the tab "General" and select "Original Height" in the "Vertical Padding..." list box.
Worked for me. YMMV.

2.36 only loads (recognizes?) a few subtitles for me - any ideas why it won't read them all like it used to ? My player stays blank for most movies but the movies work fine under VLC.

doesn't work for me, all i get is a black screen... once i have removed it agian everything is normal...

are there other files direct_vobsub needs to behave proparly?

Not a lot I can say, really -- it does what it's supposed to do, and does it well -- it even works in Windows Media Center.
